Verdi has launched a new generation system enabled by a new LoRaWAN gateway “Verdi Gateway (Gen 2)”, along with software updates to the Verdi Dashboard and firmware upgrades to the Verdi Block Controller. This update delivers significantly faster system response and creates a stronger foundation for long-term reliability, support, and feature growth.
During this transition period, we will use the names [V1350] Verdi Gateway (Legacy) and [V2233] Verdi Gateway (Gen 2).
What’s new
The biggest immediate improvement to customers is the response time of Verdi Block Controllers. Actions such as opening/closing valves, turning on/off pumps, or applying a schedule change now take effect in about 15 seconds, down from roughly 2 minutes. Scheduled valves and pumps will still operate precisely to the second.
The new generation system enables over-the-air firmware updates for Verdi Block Controllers and the upcoming Verdi Sensor Node. This means Verdi can debug, fix bugs, and introduce new features without requiring customers to pay the technical hourly fee for reprogramming in-field.
The new generation system also comes with improved device communication and better visibility into device behavior. Verdi Technical Support will be able to identify and resolve more issues remotely for our customers, reducing on-site service needs and improving customer support in general.
The Verdi Gateway (Gen 2) specifically has many improvements, such as the capability of reading the solar power and battery status of [V1625] Solar Kit for Gateway, and a full metal enclosure, an upgrade from the plastic enclosure of Verdi Gateway (Legacy).
