Verdi Gateway Solar and Mast Installation
Installation Procedure
Connect antenna
Connect the antenna to the Verdi Gateway using the included 20-foot or 2-foot antenna cable (N-Type female to SMA-RP male). For maximum range, the antenna needs to be elevated as high as possible, away from metal objects, and within line of sight of all controllers and RTUs.
Note: We recommend a maximum antenna cable length of 20 ft of LMR-240 coax cable. Do not add additional extension cables beyond 20 ft. If you are sourcing your own cable, only use LMR-240 coax cables or better.Power on
Depending on whether you have the 120V AC or off-grid solar configuration:
Connect the included 120V AC adapter to the Verdi Gateway
orConnect the Solar Power system to the Verdi Gateway. Installation instructions here: Gateway Solar Kit
Mount
Use zip ties (included) to secure the Verdi Gateway to a post or pole
Set up internet connection
Cellular
If you subscribed to a cellular data plan, no further setup is required. Simply plug your Verdi Gateway into power (step 2 above), and it will automatically connect to the nearest cellular tower.
WiFi
The Verdi Gateway is configured as a WiFi Access Point by default. You can access and configure settings on the Verdi Gateway after connecting to its WiFi network with your laptop.
Please log in or create an account at docs.verdi.ag to view steps for connecting the Verdi Gateway to your WiFi network.
Check setup
The antenna should be elevated as high as possible, away from metal objects, and ideally within line of sight to all controllers and sensors.
Make sure there is a cellular signal at the location (you can use your mobile phone to check for signal strength).
The antenna should be fully screwed on.
The battery is plugged into the solar panel (for solar installs).
The gateway should be plugged into the battery pack via the power barrel jack (for solar installs).

There is a triple-color LED on the bottom of the Verdi Gateway.
Solid Green: Powered and has a network connection
Blinking Green: Booting and establishing a connection. This will happen after you power on the device.
Solid Red: The Gateway does not have a network connection. Contact Verdi Support.
Solar Power System LED Status Meaning
Battery charge controller lights are visible through the front of the battery. They provide information about whether the system is receiving power from solar panels, providing power to a device, and other systems faults. Reminder, a cable or cap needs to be connected to the power output cable to turn the system on.
