Introduction
Verdi engineers a wireless and battery-powered irrigation controller (Model: Block Controller). It has a 100ms pulse output that can switch a latching relay into an open or closed position.
Datasheets
Here is a datasheet of the Verdi-supplied latching power relay (Model: RT314A12): https://www.te.com/en/product-8-1393239-0.html
Here is a datasheet of the Verdi-supplied DIN Rail relay socket (Model: RT78726): https://www.te.com/en/product-6-1415035-1.html
Control Relay Wiring
The control relay provides a normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) for the purpose of controlling pump starters, VFDs, and general purpose automation equipment
Warning and Precautions
The Verdi pump control relay is provided as a stand alone dry contact relay. The installer is responsible for providing any fusing and/or protection circuitry appropriate for the connected load.
Electrical Specifications
Rated Voltage 250VAC
Rated current (UL) 16A
*see the relay data sheet for full specifications
Operation
The operation of the control relay via the interface buttons and Verdi dashboard follows nomenclature aligned with piping systems, that is the OPEN button will actuate the control relay and the CLOSE button will deactivate the control relay.
Standard Wiring
Wire the Verdi Block Controller's right most wire (Red Pulse +) to the control relay's A2 terminal, and the adjacent wire (Black Pulse -) to the control relay's A1 terminal.

Hand Off Auto Switch
Connect the external contactor terminal of a Hand-Off-Auto (HOA) switch to the common (C 11) and normally open (NO -12) contact.
The operation can be tested by energizing the circuit, putting the HOA in the auto position, and pushing the OPEN button on the Verdi Block Controller to start the pump. pushing the CLOSE button will turn off the pump.
Test
When you click the open button on the Block Controller, the contacts of the relay should close, and the pump should turn on.
When you click the close button on the Block Controller, the contact of the relay should open, and the pump should turn off.
We understand this is confusing, but it was designed this way because most block controller installations are used on solenoid-actuated valves, where open refers to valve open.
