Description
The FLOMEC QS200 Ultrasonic and Badger Meter Impeller flow sensors are both PVC tee insert-style meters designed for agricultural irrigation, but they differ slightly in sensing technology and maintenance needs. The FLOMEC QS200 uses ultrasonic measurement, offering low-flow detection, no moving parts, and reliable performance even in compressed-air winterization, making it a durable alternative for paddlewheel sensors. In contrast, the Badger Meter Impeller employs a six-bladed non-magnetic impeller with a built-in preamplifier, delivering strong torque, repeatable operation, and long-distance signal transmission, though it requires periodic servicing of its mechanical components. Both models fit standard PVC tees and provide accurate flow monitoring.

Wiring
FLOMEC or Badger Meter | Verdi Sensor Adapter |
Black wire connects to → | GND (Pin 1 or Pin 3) |
Red wire connects to → | S1 (Pin 4) |
Note: add a jumper wire to connect pin 4 and 5
Route the cable from the sensor to a Badger Meter flow monitor/endpoint . The cable may be extended up to 2000 feet (610 meters), using 2-conductor shielded 20 AWG (or larger) stranded copper wire. Be sure to leave enough flexibility in the cable or conduit to allow for future service of the sensor.
